When we purchased our thermography equipment and the seller came to our office demonstrate its use, I happened to be standing in front of the camera which was pointed at my head and neck, and the image on the screen showed an unusual inflammatory pattern in my lower right jaw.
I mentally dismissed it as an anomaly, since I wasn’t experiencing any discomfort, but the following week I developed a toothache in the spot the thermography machine had identified. It was my first indication of the predictive power of thermography, and its ability to identify inflammatory patterns before symptoms set in.
Although we’ve now used thermography for many years for breast health in our practice, it has much wider applications.
Most medical conditions are accompanied by inflammation, and that’s where thermography excels. As an adjunctive evaluation tool, whole-body thermography offers unique opportunities for proactive care.
A full-body study can detect underlying issues caused by or related to the following health issues:
- Breast health
- Cardiovascular health
- Neurological disorders
- Muscular and joint disorders
- Sinus and allergy challenges
- Digestive disorders
- Dental conditions
- Thyroid health
- And much more
Even better, there is absolutely no risk with thermography –it’s as simple as taking your picture, and it is 100-percent safe.
No radiation of any kind is emitted by the camera. Nothing is injected into your body. There is no risk of damage to the fragile cellular DNA. It is painless, and there is no human or equipment contact or compression.
It is inexpensive compared to other diagnostic imaging procedures, and it’s an effective evaluative tool for men, women, and children.
We’ve found thermography to be ideal in our practice of preventive medicine, as it allows for early detection, analysis, and intervention BEFORE symptoms can manifest. Thus it is an ideal tool for early health screening.
Thermography offers us unique insights into your body’s current physiology, and a first glimpse of conditions that may be developing, long before the stages where conventional imaging can detect them.
Why isn’t thermography more widely used? I believe the main reason is its sheer unfamiliarity – it simply isn’t a mainstream diagnostic tool, at least not yet.
The next reason is economics. Conventional medical facilities may invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in diagnostic imaging equipment that needs to be used in order to justify the investment.
As a side note, our thermographic equipment is state-of-the-art and also costs tens of thousands of dollars.
