Why?
At Pacific Naturopathic, we have been studying cancer and treating cancer patients for many years. In the past two or three years, we have noticed that whether using adjunctive therapy (as we do at Pacific Naturopathic) or conventional therapy, cancer is increasingly difficult to get under control.
Environmental challenges such as EMFs (5G), long-term side effects of pesticide and herbicide use, toxicity from synthetic materials, untreated surreptitious viral and bacterial infections and other assaults have become prominent factors affecting cancer treatment. Achieving disease-free survival has become more difficult.
In a correctly functioning immune system, cells that are mutated or damaged are recognized and destroyed. Cancer cells have multiple ways of evading that immune destruction, and one of those ways is through an enzyme called nagalase. Nagalase is secreted by cancer cells and allows those cells to hide from the immune system and avoid destruction. Nagalase is sometimes referred to as cancer cells’ “cloak of invisibility.” Simply put, salicinium works by shutting down the cellular production of nagalase so the immune system can recognize and destroy the cancer.
An important fact is that, unlike chemotherapy, salicinium promotes the destruction of cancer cells while leaving healthy cells intact.
Studies show that salicinium can increase the efficacy of chemotherapy or radiation by making cancer cells more susceptible to these treatments. It can also help lessen the side-effects from these treatments.
Salicinium additionally helps boost the immune system by activating certain immune cells, such as natural killer cells (NK cells) that play a key role in identifying and destroying cancer cells. This partly explains salicinium’s benefit in many chronic illnesses, including Lyme disease.
Cancer, Lyme disease, and many other chronic illnesses can shut down cellular energy production. This decrease in energy production impacts every other system and can manifest as fatigue, weight loss, insomnia, anxiety, depression, poor wound healing, poor digestion, impaired detoxification, chronic pain, and constant feelings of malaise. Salicinium has been shown to help restore energy production, thereby improving cellular function and overall health.
Another potential benefit of salicinium is improvement in detoxification by supporting liver function. By helping the body to eliminate toxins, salicinium may help reduce the overall burden on the immune system, thereby freeing the immune cells to more effectively target and destroy diseased or cancerous cells.
How does Salicinium work?
Healthy cells do not have the ability to accept highly complex sugar molecules – those molecules having something additional attached to the glycome portion. Because cancer cells possess an enzyme known as b-glucosidase, they have the ability to break a complexed molecule apart and use the glycome portion to create energy. Salicinium uses this process to deliver its components to the cancer cell disguised as sugar. Like the Trojan horse. Once the cell removes the glycome for energy, it is left with a portion it cannot metabolize which becomes cytotoxic to the cancer cell. Salicinium simultaneously enhances the body’s own immune (Natural Killer/Gc MAF) cells, renewing their defensive capabilities. This all takes place with no toxicity and no effect on blood glucose levels.
How effective is Salicinium against cancer?
Several studies show that Salicinium targets cancer-initiating cells (cancer stem cells, or CSC) resistant to conventional therapies. Numerous studies show that Salicinium not only reduces tumor volume, but also decreases tumor recurrence when used as an adjuvant to standard treatments. Results from 675 cancer patients show that Salicinium effectively treats many different types of cancer, significantly extending survival for all groups studied (including a majority of patients with treatment-resistant Stage IV cancer).
In related studies, Salicinium effectively treated chronic viral infections, including Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), cytomegalovirus (CMV) and herpes viruses (HVs). Additional studies have demonstrated that Salicinium safely and effectively treats cancer and viral infections by disrupting glycolytic (sugar) metabolism in cancer and virus-infected cells, causing cell death (apoptosis). Additionally, Salicinium restores and potentiates healthy immune function in patients with cancer and chronic viral infections by disrupting synthesis and reducing blood levels of the immune-suppressive enzyme “nagalase” (alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminidase).
