Sometimes the answer is a simple as giving the body enough rest. Taking a few days off can often work wonders. Simply allowing the body time to mend can restore our energy and enthusiasm.

At other times, the solution might be more complex. Frequent exercise can stress the body far above its normal limits, depleting its nutrient stores and causing those strange episodes of blah energy and extended recovery.

Below, I’ll discuss some of the ways we help our clients resolve these unexplained setbacks.

Lab Testing 1: Micronutrient Testing

The micronutrient test panel can be extremely helpful for identifying nutrient deficiencies. It looks at the nutrient status of the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants that become depleted with hard and/or extended exercise.

Micronutrient testing gives us an idea of the specific nutrient deficiencies that may be affecting your performance. We can then suggest a supplement regimen to correct the deficiency.

Lab testing 2: Adrenal Testing

Exercise, especially in its more extreme forms, can subject the body to stress levels far above those of normal daily life. Adrenal testing can help us determine your body’s unique and individual exercise response.

Adrenal insufficiency is a definite possibility if you’re noticing unusual fatigue during exercise. If the testing reveals an insufficiency, we’ll suggest nutrients and herbs to help normalize your body’s metabolism.

Treatments 1: Supplements

Depending on your performance goals, and the results of your lab testing, we might suggest a supplement regimen that includes nutrients, herbs, and amino acids.

Treatments 2: Intravenous (IV) Nutrient Therapy

Administering nutrients intravenously is absolutely the quickest way to build up your body’s nutrient status, because the nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream.

With intravenous treatment, the amounts of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids can swiftly reach levels 10-100 times greater than with oral supplementation.

Most people notice the effects immediately, in the form of increased energy and shortened recovery times.

An IV can be administered before a major workout or competition to support and enhance your performance. Or can be administered post-exercise for rehydration and to speed recovery.
